On December 18, 2012, the 2012 Annual Conference for the Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone Development Report and Yellow River Delta Efficient Ecological Economic Zone Development Report was held in Jinan. The projects were undertaken by the Center for Economic Research of Shandong University and Shandong School of Development at Shandong University.
Li Shouxin, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Shandong University and executive vice President of Shandong School of Development, Zhu Zhengchang, former standing member of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, former Secretary of the CPC Committee of Shandong University and executive vice President of Shandong School of Development at Shandong University, and Fei Yunliang, former Director of Shandong Development and Reform Commission and vice President of Shandong School of Development at Shandong University, attended the conference and made speeches. Vice President of Shandong University Chen Yan presided the conference.

Li Shouxin, Zhu Zhengchang, Fei Yunliang, and Chen Yan spoke highly of these two reports. They believe that these two reports are two crucial accomplishments that Shandong University has made for local economic development, and they encouraged Shandong University to continue doing such researches. Li Jiangping, the director of Social Science Research Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, stated that these two reports satisfy the requirements of the Ministry of Education and have a strong application value.

Huang Shaoan, the Secretary and executive vice President of Shandong School of Development at Shandong University and the President of the Center for Economic Research of Shandong University and Cheung Kong Scholar, Wei Jian , Vice Director of SDU Department of Academic Research and vice President of Shandong School of Development at Shandong University, delivered these two reports respectively on behalf of the Seminar. They introduced the core contents of these two reports and the work going on as well as future projects.
Guests from somewhat other departments and from Qingdao, Rizhao, Binzhou, Dongying, and Dezhou who are responsible for the task of these two Zones, persons in charge, members in Seminar and journalists from Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, China National Radio, Guangming Daily, People’s Daily online and other media attended the conference.
Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone Development Report and Yellow River Delta Efficient Ecological Economic Zone Development Report are breeding programs of the philosophy and social science development report 2011 of the Ministry of Education. These two reports are compiled and published on an annual basis. These two reports are crucial accomplishments serving the local economic and social development of the Center for Economic Research of Shandong University and Shandong School of Development at Shandong University supported by the Ministry of Education.
Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone Development Report 2012 consists of regular reports and special reports. The annual regular report makes a conclusion on the overall economic and social development and the development of listed companies in the Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone in 2011. The special report does a specific research on fundamental issues of economic development in the Zone, including the integration and development of the port industry in Shandong province, the financial support of Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone, and the competition and cooperation among different local governments in Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone.
Yellow River Delta Efficient Ecological Economic Zone Development Report 2012 consists of a general report and a number of sub-reports. The general report makes an analysis about Yellow River Delta Efficient Ecological Economic Zone’s achievement, innovation, and existing problems in the last several years as a whole. Sub-reports attach importance to the achievement, existing problems, and suitable policy suggestion in cities and counties around this Zone.
